Frankenstein Closing
The Off-Broadway unintentional camp-fest Frankenstein will close December 9th. Apparently the producers will record a cast album shortly after the show closes, and are contemplating a national tour. The cast album will likely happen, but I have my doubts about whether the tour will materialize.
Why? Well, because, as I said in my review, the show sucks. The only reason it limped along for 70 performances was that many of those perfs occured during the recent stagehand strike, and the musical-starved ticket-buying public had precious little else to see, at least in terms of musicals.
If you want to see how laughably bad a supposedly serious musical can be, by all means make your way to the 37 Arts building before this Sunday.

I think the show falls into the "bad, but still worth seeing" category.
I went in knowing what I was getting into and actually had a pretty good time.
Yes, it took itself too seriously and it was completely over conceptualized, but some of the music was exciting, and was sung by a very talented (if miscast) cast.
I'm glad I was one of the few who witnessed it, because I doubt if there will be much of a chance to see it again...
